Hi All!

Joey from New Orleans here.

Next April I hit 50 years of age.

Been biking since, well, can't remember. Not 'cause I'm old! My folks tell me they started me on a trike at age 3. Got serious at age 15. Been fast ever since.

No car for 19 years. Didn't use them much when I had one.

Current commute is 17 miles each way minimum. It involves bike paths and fast and furious riding through the concrete "jungle". Commute on the road bike takes 50 to 55 minutes door to door.

Favorite bike this week: Vintage Miyata road bike circa 1990.
Other Bikes: Surly Pugsley 2006 and a Converted Marin Pine Mountain (to Touring Bike) from 1990 as well (It was a very good year).
Also: Joe Breeze Itzy flolding 1-speeder.

I work at Bicycle Michael's in the Bywater section of the city.

Nothing against fixies here - I'm into gears and brakes. I ride as fast as I can pretty much all the time.

I am happy to be here at BikeForum. Looks like a cool place.

Cheers!

Howdy! I have been known to lurk around Bicycle Michael's myself, even bought a Fuji there.

Hi Joey, it sounds as if you could have an almost never ending supply of vintage steel to show off to us over at Classic & Vintage :) .

Don't be shy about posting, we'd love to see the current ride :D .

Welcome to BF!

Hi JoeyBike - Nice to see you here on Bike Forums! You and the folks at Bicycle Michaels have given me excellent service in recent months -- two single-speed conversions. Those new Sevens hanging behind the counter have me drooling. See you soon, Jethro

Welcome to Bikeforums! I always go to Bicycle Michaels to buy parts to keep my vintage bicycles moving, espically my roadster. Things that stump other shops you guys actually know what I am talking about.
