Ha. Versus just came on and they are simply replaying this mornings coverage, nothing live or updated so no mention of the latest. . .
Had to chuckle when they are talking about Ras great performance. . .
Should be pretty funny tomorrow morning. . .

I don't think "funny" is the word I would use to describe this situation. ;) I honestly found the beginning of this morning's stage rather depressing.

Crow for breakfast. Actually, I think that is a French dish. I ate pigeon there once.

Phil has a posted his take on the MR removal on the versus website.

He says "Tomorrow is going to be a strange day."

Indeed..
Full fathom five thy father lies:
Of his bones are coral made:
Those are pearls that were his eyes:
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange.
A sea-change, before our eyes, I hope.

They flashed the breaking news at the bottom. Besides, everyone is asleep in France. Except for Ras.

I just found out by watching versus. The streaming banner on the bottom of the screen showed it.

It seems like Vs could get the guys about to do a few minutes of same day coverage on these scandals. I know these stories are breaking late there, but over here there's plenty of time to add into their "enhanced" coverage. Jeez, the frickin' yellow jersey has been booted and there's not even a mention of it other than the ticker at the bottom of the screen. Very poor in today's media world. This ain't the 70's.

Phil says:
"Thank heavens none of these three riders have ever been remotely suspected in dealing with drugs and could now turn out to be the race’s saviors".
Well, he got two out of three right on that one. Not saying AC is/has used, but to include him in the statement "never been remotely suspected in dealing with drugs" is a bit of a stretch.

Incorrect. Armstrong's been retired 2 years now.

I do believe Kafka-esque would be the term of choice here.

Did Versus report about all the French and German riders refusing to start the race today as a protest?
This morning the start was delayed by the six French and two German teams competing in the Tour de France who protested against doping. Teams Agritubel, AG2r, Francaise des Jeux, Bouygues Telecom, Cofidis, Credit Agricole, Gerolsteiner and T-Mobile have formed the "Movement for a Credible Cycling." They teams have asked for all the teams to abide by their good behavior charter adopted in 2005. Under the charter, teams are requested to avoid fielding riders implicated in doping affairs.

Yes, they did mention it.
CNN interviewed Phil this morning. Good interview.

Do I have to review what happened to Confidis later yesterday?

Incorrect.
As a media guy, I thought about this last night. Versus should have shown some balls...they should have all gotten together in the hotel lobby with some lights and a camera and recorded something to be played last night about this.
They knew by 11:00 p.m.
That's 4:00 here, right? That's three hours before air time.
It wouldn't have been easy, but certainly do-able....and would have done a lot for their credibility I think.

Yeah, but I think these guys have their hands full. At the end of every stage, they have to pack up all of their stuff and drive to the ending city for the next stage, get checked into their hotel, and find something that approximates dinner along the way. They need to be up early, eat breakfast, check out of their hotel, watch the race on TV from the start, and then be ready to go on the air as early as 11:30am local time.
At 11PM, they wouldn't have their studio set up, so they would need to do it with a handheld camera, I suppose. They would need to look fresh and awake, have enough to say to fill at least 30 minutes of time, and then get a satellite uplink to get the footage back to the states.
Finally, there is the point that they might be upset by it all, and it would be better if we let them sleep on it for the night before going on the air to discuss it.
