Well,

if public embarrassment and negative publicity were not enough to discourage sponsors, now you can potentially LOSE money on the deal from getting sued if a rogue rider decides to cheat.

Makes the screening and monitoring of the riders all the more pertinent. It may come down to the fact that riders will be required to live at Team compounds months before they race in order to ensure they monitor these d-bags.
