I got a new stem today and thought it would be an easy swap. I think I needed another spacer.
The star nuts both came out of the steerer tube.
Any advice on how to correct this or am I screwed and need to go in to a shop. I would love to try to fix this on my own...
You don't have to tell me I'm stupid, I'm admitting that now!
More than one star nut?
Maybe the one broke and appears to be two.
Star nuts are cheap, but you may want the LBS to set it for you. I'll bet adjusting your headset would be cheap, too, and they'll have another spacer available if needed.
