Commuting - rear rack extender to prevent heel strikes?

I'm getting heel strikes with my panniers, so I'm thinking, if the rack can be moved towards the back a little, it would clear my heels.
Is there such an attatchment that would extend the rear rack more towards the back?

Had the same problem. Don't know about extenders, but I got a Jandd Expedition Rack, which is about 4-5 inches longer than most racks on the market. You can position your bags far enough back that heel clearance isn't an issue.

+1 for Arkel; I have their briefcase and was having heel-strike problems. I bought the Old Man Mountain Red Rock rack from them, which solved the problem entirely.

But I must admit, the little hardware shown in the link from the first response, above, might also have solved it, and would have only cost $6 -- so I'd start there if I were you!

I recently upgrade my rear rack from stock to a Jannd Expedition & it's much better. While I could still mount my panniers (06 Arkels commuter baskets) back far enough it meant that the top hooks were adjust to only half the bag & the back of the bag would sag towards the wheel because there wasn't enough support. It's much better with the longer & stronger Jannd because now I can mount the bags with the hooks more spread out & that third outer bar provides more support on the backside. Best of all I found it online for $43 from JensonUSA. I was sceptical because tris rack retails for $69, but it was the real deal shipped from their MN warehouse.

Only issues were having to bend the fenders rods to fit around the rack especially since I only have one pair of eyelets & using a longer screw to accomodate it all. Also the brake just hits the support, but widening them a bit by swapping the brake pad washers should fix that.

Cyclocross frame & size 11 boots clears fine. May touch if I peddle with feet horizontal, but my feet are usually a little angled forward.

The Jannd looks great but I already have the racks. I think I'll go with the TUBUS solution.
