I'm the kind of guy that likes to latch onto an athlete and cheer for him...follow his career....
I'm also the kind of guy that can't stand these stupid, old-school riders who think it's still OK to cheat and are too dumb to figure out that's no longer acceptable in this sport.
As I watch the end of Le Tour, give me someone to believe in!
I'd like to believe in Contador, but wasn't his name attached to Puerto too at some point? Are there not suspicions there too?
Give me a star of the future, a clean rider who is out there busting is ass without the help of someone else's blood or EPO.

Due to the recent suspicious nature of the tour i think they will take it so far as to deem anyone remotely suspicous guilty. A clean rider to cheer for? Bob Rolls? lol

I would say Jesus, but I'm a atheist.

Andy Schleck..
at this point, i feel they are all guilty. the sport and athletes have to prove otherwise. they have done this to themselves. there is not one i can believe in. they say they dont dope, then they get busted or avoid testing. its not worth my time anymore. later.

Saul Raisin.
+ 1 billion.
Saul is awesome. I hope he does well at the National TT race and then gets back into the peloton next year.
Amazing story, indeed. CHeck out Dave Shields' site (http://www.daveshields.com/Saul.html) for the new book on Saul's comeback.
Hip, you need to get these guys on your show to promote the book. Seriously!!

Linus Gerdeman - his first post-race interview after his stage win should seal the deal.
Andy Hampsten, Greg Lemond, Psimet2001.
All clean as a whistle.

He's a dope(r).
He's a dope(r).
It thought the BFNIC cleared him of any wrongdoing.

He's a dope(r).
...oh no doubt. I saw a syringe fall out of his saddle bag on our century last season.
....
Saul is a great story...forgot about him. There could be my guy.

...but the UCBIFNIC did not.
Wim Vansevenant. I believe he's clean.
How about Coach Jerry? He looked clean last year, heck it took him until the 4th rest stop to even put a cookie in his body.

...oh heck yeah.
But I'm talking pro here of course.
I believe in all of us....true riders who, in our own way, bust our butt at times on the road for the pure enjoyment of it all, no drugs involved. (well, other than this ugly rumor about Psimet. But I really believe with him it's not a drug thing....now, alcohol...that MAY be a different story!)

He's on PED's*, alright. Heard it from a guy who heard it from someone else who thought they saw Psimet using the PED's* to help him drop strollers on the MUP.
The shame...... the shame...

It's sad really...when a guy has to resort to little chocolate donuts to drop moms and strollers.

Believe in yourself. There isn't one jackhole on the tour who gives a fig for you or anyone else (unless they advance the rider's career), so why should you care about them?

Scientist who saved up to 1 billion lives gets medal
July 18, 2007
WASHINGTON -- President Bush presented the Congressional Gold Medal on Tuesday to agriculture scientist Norman Borlaug, whose work on high-yield, disease-resistant varieties of wheat is credited with starting the ''Green Revolution'' and alleviating starvation in India and Pakistan in the 1960s.
Borlaug, whose work is credited with saving up to a billion lives, was awarded the Nobel Peace Price in 1970.
''The name Norman Borlaug may not be known in many households on earth, but his life's work has reached almost every kitchen table on earth,'' said Majority Leader Harry Reid.
Borlaug, an Iowa native, was educated in a one-room schoolhouse and went on to attend the University of Minnesota. He continues to work for the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center in Mexico.

Thanks for posting this. Saul is an incredible guy and I feel 100% comfortable in saying that he will never use illegal drugs. In writing this book Saul and I have become great friends. It's been a life-changing expeirience for me. If you find the time to read it I'm certain you'll understand why.
BTW, check out this video from Versus on Saul: http://www.TourdeLife.us

Thanks Kenal....
I never thought of that, but you know, I DO receive e-mails from listeners who are curious about hip replacement and/or simply admire what I've done since then. It's a good feeling.

Saul Raisin. Raisin certainly is the type of rider/person that we should be able to believe in.
