General Cycling Discussion - Can anyone tell me about this bike?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have a 7-year-old Diamondback Approach. Never even rode it. Now I'm interested in riding for exercise and enjoyment on bike trails. Is this a good bike for that? I'm embarassed it's been so long since I bought it, I don't remember what I bought it for!!!
Thanks for any help.
Tracey;)

The first thing I'd do is take it to a bikeshop mechanic and get it checked out, just in case there are any little faults that you don't know about. That done, it would be fine if you've never ridden. If you want to get into riding more seriously later on, you can always upgrade when you see fit to do so.

Do as Chris said, and you'll probably find you'll need to replace quite a few things like tyres, tubes and chain. Depending on how the bike has been stored and looked after, the chain could be a good or bad thing.
