Foo - Unrequited Love

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Same thing as stalking or different? Actually i have grown to view it as similar to a miscarriage. It is where nature averts a disaster.
Share your unrequited love stories...

Different. Stalking can be a manifestation of unrequited love.
I don't have anything to share, with me when it ends IT ENDS. GOODBYE, HAVE NICE LIFE. etc kinda thingy. :)

I tend to agree with Snowy....
If it didn't work, it wasn't meant to be. Life is too short to carry a torch!

My story would be Alexis M. in high school. I was super crazy about her, although too shy to really tell her. Whenever we talked, time melted away into hours, whether on the phone, at the dance, etc....
Anyway, we graduated and I still had never gone out with her. Soon after HS she was moving to Miami because she was started to make a name modeling. I was devastated with the thought that I never got the guts to tell her how I felt. I debated whether I should tell her now that she was leaving or not.....I still didn't have the nerve to do it in person, so I wrote her a really long letter telling her how I'd liked her for so long.
I basically got a 3 sentence "Dear John".
It would have ended there if not for two more events. 1) I was hanging out with another friend from high school, Rachel. She was good friends with both Alexis and I. She told me (this is like 6 months after grad. and a few months after Alexis left) that our small English class we were in were so convinced that BOTH of us liked the other one, that they all had a pool going on when she and I would finally "hook up".
Well, probably another 6 months go by and I saw Alexis one night at the community college I was at. She was coming out of a class in the same room mine was in next. I hid and avoided her.....but decided to do some snooping to verify she was indeed back for good. I then saw her at my friend Jennie's graduation party (1 year after ours).
I got up the nerve, and asked her out. SHE SAID YES!!! I swear, immediately after that I walked back in the house (where Jennie, Marcie, my brother and about 4 friends were watching me to encourage me to do it) and as soon as I got in and closed the door my legs gave out and I fell down saying, "she said yes".
Anyway, the short version from here is that we went out a few times and I realized she just wasn't right for me after all. I swore I thought she was my one true love (but what does an 18 year old know)....but we just didn't "click" in that way. Eventually it faded off, but it was nice to have had the chance to try.

Its gotta be H from grad school.. If there was ever a female doppelganger of mine, it was her. We hit it off great and she seemed to make life much more lively when around her. Tremendous athlete as well. I was unfortunately graduating in 3 months and moving to Boston she was going to be there for the next 5 years. Timing..

Hah, that reminds me of something a group of us used to do in high school... whenever a new romance would surface, this one kid would start a pool on the inside his locker door and you could place bets for how long you thought the relationship would last... winner take all.
I found this hilarious. Certain other parties were not amused.

Ooooo, I had a 3 year stalker, ex boyfriend. Not something I'd wish on anyone at all.

Even with restraining orders, and with threats of physical beating by some of my, <cough> motorcycle acquaintances, this guy would not relent. Phone calls, calling other people to see where I was and then visit local establishments to find me - stomp in (I will forever see a Red Iroc in my rearview mirror) and state that I LIED about what I was doing and then proceed to fling the nearest drink on me. ??? (wore a few drinks let me tell you). And then stomp out and proceed to leave the biggest skid mark from the parking lot to the street. Whole thing was to embarrass me (which it did) and something else, I'll never know in his little pea brain.
Especially since we had been broken up for 3 yrs (and it was a solid break no meandering back and forth). He was quite a character.
Final note: After several stiff fines (from officials) and finally a FIRM <cough> talking too from some friends - that stuff is now way long gone. Several years. Oh yes, and he has a new person in his life and he's doing the same thing with her. ick.
