5 days down, 2 to go. just under 400 miles so far. Got talked into the Karras loop on the second day, so would up riding my first century at 110 miles.

Ah Iowa. All the years I lived in Colorado and I never put on the low gears and knobbies to do the ascent of Mt. Sunflower. :D I did pass across the north side of the state during RAAM. Remembered seeing a bank clock display 114 degrees at 11:30 PM. Nicest reporter I ever met was from a paper in Norton, Kansas. He skipped a wedding he was supposed to be going to and interviewed our rider for half an hour by radio from the close support vehicle.
