I got the B-17 for the old Varsity today but too late to install. I had it and my wifes bike on the truck rack ready to go and take our ride and we got back too late to mess with it (has to do with that pesky day job) getting ready packing lunches and all that nonsense. BUT tomorrow as soon as I get home from work I'm putting that bad boy on. Now all I need it the perfect saddlebag and I"m set. More shiny stuff:D

Sounds pretty good, but you need to take an extra step to protect yourself.
Never ride another lightweight bicycle, lest you become as some of us are. :)

Oh Yeah I put the Brooks on today after work and this evening I went for a short 5 mile cruise around town. I put the new one on instead of swapping it out for the one on my Raleigh which has a few hundred miles on it the though being I would ride the Raleigh more than the Varsity but I didn't end up wanting to mess around with that so on it went. This saddle is amazing its is actually more comfortable out of the box than my older one is now so I'm a happy camper. :D

Wow Easthill you are my new hero or is that heroine? Anyway e-mail me and let me know waht I was doing wrong. Thanks again. Don't that Brooks look good? That saddlebag is not the final rendition, I'm going to get a Carradice zipped roll for it soon.

I sent you a PM on how to do the photos...
That Brooks looks great, and the saddlebag looks nice too. The Carradice should look even better :) .

Acorn Bags look nice as well and are affordable. ronzorini makes and sells them on ebay. I have the tan one.

How big/expensive do you want your saddlebag to be?

Margaret, I thought 21"-22" frames were too big for you...now you can get yourself a Paramount :D

I didn't know what I wanted and that plaid is nice but this is a Varsity after all and the saddle is worth more than what I paid for the bike. I got this little Bushwhacker bag in the interim until can get a Carradice Zipped roll or something similiar (heavy hint to ronzorini) I rode this bike to work today and adjusted the saddle just a tad forward and the ride home was sublime. Steel whether it is gas pipe or Chro-mo just absorbs so well. this bike weighs in at a hefty 42 lbs. just like it sets but I swear it rolls nice than my commuter or my Raleigh Cadent.

They are! This is stringbreaker's Varsity. He now knows the secret of posting photos :D . I think I can still get a Paramount, but it has to be the smallest one offered which I think was the 19"?
I should steal the mudguards though!

Looking great. I want to get a honey B17 someday. If you find it starts to sag too much too soon, grab a hole punch or borrow one, and lace it. I did my black one on the Voyageur, and found it actually improved it quite a bit. The sit bone comfort is still there, but no middle sag, and I also was able to level the seat out. I did have it tilted back a bunch to overcome the slide forward feeling, which in turn became unpleasant in the front, lol:o. All is good now. :),,,,,BD

I like the looks of that lacing, does it rub on your legs at all? Can you post a picture of the underside of the saddle
