Foo - Why I Post Mostly in Foo

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I post in this forum mostly because people get so worked up on many of the other ones. I love cycling but I don't want to argue about it and get acrimonious. Why do that? Granted some boards are pretty mellow while others have the atmosphere of a snake pit!
No, I like Foo where there is niceness and tom foolery!!!! I have to be serious with so many damn things in my life but if cycling came to that I'd get rid of my bikes.
So this is a message to those who argue the arcane, mundane, inane, and at times insane! Drop your pants and slide on the ice. (Yes, I stole that line from MASH but it is a good line!);):D

The good PATH leads to Foo.
Tom, I do post on the Clyde's forum because 1) the folks I have talked to on there are so nice it is incredible, 2) the moderator there named Tom is as mellow as a cello, and 3) KingTermite posts there!:D

I post in foo because its nice to converse with fellow cyclists without having to talk bikes.

I post in Foo because the other forums are actual work for me. :)
I only post in Foo, period.
Well, from time to time I venture into the SSFG forum but that usually feels like a sausage fest.

I love posting in the Mountain biking forum for the pure entertainment value. There are a lot of funny people in there. The volume of posts is relatively low compared to Foo, though.

Because it "feels like warm apple pie" or because it simply tastes good?

I don't post in Foo.
Whoops!
I like foo because what we say in the room, stays in the room, or else you take a slide on the ice.

I mostly post in PnR because we alter the course of world events, are very respectful of one another and never come across as ineffectual whiners.

I like foo cause I deal with enough sanity in the real world that its nice to have a place to come and see a little insanity (the fun kind) from time to time.
Also, as stated above, some of the other forums are way to serious for their own good.

Foo seems to be one of the only places on the board that has a sense of humour.
There is way too much repetition in the other forums. I can only read "I averaged 17.3 MPH hon my ride today. Is that good?" so many times before it just gets too damn old. Doping threads seem to all say the same thing as well.

foo is fun! very rarely will you see people looking for arguments just for the sake of entertainment.
It's a good laugh with people who are genuine.
Awww, poor baby, was some guy in a dress mean to you, prompting you to come cry to mommy?
It was sarcasm. PnR is 99% insults, mindless rhetoric, and avoidance coupled with more insults.
EDIT: Oh, and I come here just to hear BDG say 'penis'
oooo I agree! As a member of several other forums, this one is quite lighter hearted than some of the others, one most of all, where some of the members are just downright mean and nasty. Tired of getting hit with picking on people, gay bashing, religious fights and political ugliness.

is that followed by "mightier than the sword" or "land"?;)
Inquiring minds want to know.
what is penis land?

I post in Foo because this, besides a local thread in the SE forum, is the only place where I feel I know most of the people behind the screen names. Something nice about sharing thoughts with friends. :)

If you can't handle a spanking:
1. Don't post in Politics and Religion.
2. Don't try to ambush me on a completely unrelated topic, in a completely unrelated forum.
Thanx.

By far my favorite is Foo. I do post some in Mechanics and Recumbent but even they get nasty sometimes. It's peaceful here.

I don't know your name Randy. What's your name?
Okay, right, let's get this straight now! Next one to accuse foo of being "nice", or "peaceful" or "kind" or "gentle" is going to be subjected to the comfy chair, and you will stay in the Comfy Chair until lunchtime, with only a cup of coffee at eleven!

Plus if all else fails he can flash his hairy moobs at Kris. Kris will surely turn to stone. Or mush. Or pea soup. One or the other. Or the other.
