Is anyone registered for the ETR in Dellroy, OH 8/10-8/12 this year?
This is our first tandem specific rally. We are only doing the Sat ride and not the full weekend since we live in NE Ohio area. Just curious what to expect and who might be there.

Yes, we are going for the first time. Friday night ride will be short with several options on Saturday including a 22mile remote start on Saturday. Looks like a fun weekend. I heard there are 70 teams registered

We are registered for the full weekend and also looking forward to a dedicated tandem weekend. We started tandem riding last fall. Last count I heard was 80 teams for the weekend.

We started tandem riding last fall. .

We also started last fall. Good to know we aren't the only newbies at ETR.

We started riding in the spring of '06 and have found tandem teams to be wonderful companions and extremely helpful. Also think about the Midwest Tandem Rally in Appleton Wisconsin over labor day weekend. Will probably have over 300 teams there.

Yep we'll be there also. This will be our second ETR, the first one was a few years ago in Lancaster PA. This year the rally is coming west enough for it to be a short drive from the Detroit area...My name is Benjamin and Pat is my stoker, we'll be on a green cannondale MT800..

See you there, we'll be doing the full weekend.

Take care,

Benjamin

We are also doing the ETR for the first time. We have been riding tandems for three years, but have never done a large tandem rally. We have done smaller ones (San Diego Tandem Club and the Southern Tier Tandem Rally (STTR), hosted by Rich S. in Elmira NY. We are visiting in Ohio and are only able to come down for the Saturday portion of the rally, but we are looking forward to it. We will use a Trek tandem for the ride. We will be wearing STTR t-shirts or Tie Dye for the ride.

We'll be there too. We're riding a green to blue vertical fade Santana tandem with blue and black striped handlebar tape with a big Santana / Winzip 10 inch rotor and Sweet 16 wheels. It will be good to meet fellow list members

Looking forward to see this threads' teams - we will be on a Calfee Tandem, Cabernet (red) fade, rolf wheels. Blond, pretty stoker and old, graying captain.

This is us. Chris & Susan. Co-mo speedster, copilot, orange/red fade.
The brain bucket hides most of my gray. :) Say hi if you pass us!

A late reply but I would like to report that we had a great time at the ETR. Counselguy and I did in fact meet CG while eating ice cream near the end of a 50 mile ride on Saturday. I also met some folks I have corresponded with on tandem@hobbes and all in all it was a very good time. The routes were very good - some flat - some mild rolling hills - with a few very short steeper sections; although for those living in flat areas it was very hilly and many steep sections. In addition to Counselguy's Calfee, we saw three other Calfee tandems, one without the lateral tube which I found intriguing and beautiful and I also saw my first Paketa (magnesium and Russian for Rocket - pronounced rocketta).

It was announced that next year, the ETR will be on the coast of Maine and New Hampshire.

Hi Dayton Duo. Where do you ride? We are North of Dayton and ride Tipp City and a lot of North and West of Troy.

We are southerner's, Beavercreek. Ride some on the country roads, hook up to the bike path, ride a little on it and then circle around back to the house. We are doing the Old Kentucky Home bike (OKHT.org) tour in a few weeks so we have been trying to get in some hills and mileage.

We do the Strawberry ride up here and we usually do a Sunday ride with 2 or 3 other tandems. We'll do more next year since we upgraded our tandem and can go longer. I'd like to do the ETR or MTR next year. We also do Hellweek in Texas in March, but we ride our singles.
