This comes from an email list in SoCal. I know the author, and this is a genuine thing.

The following is the message:

Hello all,

I’m asking everyone to help out here. This is for a very good cause, help out a Jr. rider make it to Jr. Track World Championships in Moscow Russia in August 2003.

Michael Blatchford from Cypress, CA has made the USA team for JR Track World Championship. He needs our help as USA CYCLING can't pay for the whole trip.

He just came back from Jr. Nationals where he rode in the Team Sprint Championships with his team and won, for the second year, the Team Sprint National Championship. This trip to Nationals was a costly on him and his family and they don’t have the funds to spend on sending him to Worlds.

This is were we can HELP him out.

I’m asking everyone to dig deep and lets help get Michael to Worlds. This is a very great Honor for him to be picked for the USA TEAM and will let him see what the rest of the world has to offer in terms of competition.
He needs to raise at least $800 dollars as USA Cycling will pick up the air ticket and some other things.

We are always saying that we need more young riders so that CYCLING here in the USA will grow. Here is our chance to make it happen.
Lets make a young mans dream come true and help CYCLING in the USA Grow.
Please email me with what ever you can do to help out.

Ciao,
Mitch

Do you have a address, phone number etc.. that we could make donations to? I've had some very large repair bills then car totalled same day, but I would definately like to make atleast a small financial donation.

All responses should be directed to the email address on the bottom of the message.

Thanks all. If everyone who reads this donates two dollars, this kid goes to the Worlds!

Think about it.
