I'm curious how the experience compared with, say, your local series. I've looked at some results, it seems like there's a pretty wide spread so I don't think I'd embarrass myself overly much . . . .

I did Gloucester as my 3rd race of any type ever. Big field, started way back, the scrum was more intense than I was used to, but otherwise it wasn't any different unless you get freaked out by the spectators and the inflatable arches -- which I thought were waaay coool.

I raced the usgp in Rhode Island 35 plus last year. It was an absolute blast! I am not sure how they are going to handle it in the future but up till now any one could go so there were week end worriers and seasoned cat 1/2 cx racers. I started on the last line in 176th position! It was a trip. I was happy that I got 40th place. Last year and years before you were placed on the line according to when you registered I have heard talk about doing qualifying events or some such thing since the field sizes are out of control. The initial blast of the line was a real spectacle :)
