Well I was determined to ride my second half century today. I know it's a Monday, but with a rotating schedule, I sometimes work all weekend. ANyway, I had a nice route planned, going through 6 towns some large, some very small. Thought it would be nice. Good lord, the wind was horrible today. After getting back in from the ride, I believe the Weather Channel was showing 15 MPH winds for my area. The worst part was I only had it as a tail wind for like 10 miles. The most of the time it was a cross wind. When it was a head wind it was terrible. The tailwinds was toward the end of my ride after fighting the wind, so by the time I was able to benefit from it, I was so worn out, that I couldn't benefit from it as much as if I had it earlier. I was fighting it big time too. On flat roads I normally cruise along 18-20 MPH with this wind, I was rolling at 14 into it. I feel better after ranting about it now. I know I'll take a hill climb over that kind of wind.
