Indeed, which is why it is an accurate measure of raw typing ability. Instead of finishing the sentences from knowledge, you have to look, and type.

Typing that gibberish is hard work! Nonetheless, managed 100 wpm free of errors.

Oh, I should note that I used the Dvorak keyboard layout during the test, as I do in normal computer usage on my own computers. If typing on a QWERTY keyboard layout, I'd probably be doing around 80 wpm since I don't type in the QWERTY layout nearly as much as I do in the Dvorak layout.

I'm typing on a keyboard that is nearly down on my knees too.

Have been tested higher on my civil service tests. :p at least for the accuracy portion, nothing like completing the test and having the moderator come over and exclaim (with everyone still entrenched in the test) OH MY!!! WELL, YOU CERTAINLY HAVE DONE WELL HERE!!!! (civil service tests - you're every person for yourself as it's the highest grading person for that particular test that will/may succeed in getting that one job - especially if there are waaaayyyy too many people going for it).

Not bad considering I type 70% with my right index finger and the other 30% with my left index finger. Oh, and I have to look while typing too.

I know a girl who types way over 100 WPM with no effort at all. Sounds like a machine gun or a jackhammer when she's at it! :D

If I can get Java working on this ThinkPad on my desk, I'll test on that next - I'm typically fastest on ThinkPads, and slowest (actually, most error-prone) on membrane keyboards such as this.

But, 70 wpm, 93% accuracy.

I think maybe some of you get slowed down trying to back space it?

I usually read about 2 words ahead and just type away. If I make a mistake, I keep going.
