Since it would seem that everyone is a doper - perhaps this year can be defined differently. Let's have multiple teams of testers, whoever catches the most dopers - wins!

Hey, it is just a suggestion!

Nah, it will jsut reverse things. They will just find ways to get false positives instead of false negatives.

You mean if people are paid to find something they might actually fake results in order to keep their jobs?

Just make the Tour a virtual race. Let a computer determine a winner based on the riders' body weight, blood tests, and urine tests.

But seriously, I suggest that the teams be national teams, making doping enforcement the duty of each nation. If a single team member is caught doping, the entire national team is banned for a year and all earlier wins that season are forfeited.

Also, make the Tour stages more reasonable in length, so that drugs are not required to make super-human efforts. Limit mountain stages to 60 miles and flats stages to 90 miles. The racing would be more "all out" with more intensity and less about conserving energy.

Just change its name to "Vuelta" or "Giro". Then, only people who truly care about cycling will be able to talk about it, and everything will be good again.
