Good job. I did the ride too- my total saddle time was 10 hours and 1 minute (tack on an extra 2 hours for rest stops and such). The 12 percent grade climbs were crazy- glad I did them though.

Do you know the total elevation gain for the ride was? I heard it was more than the usual 10,000, but I can't get a straight answer out of anyone (Per said it was about +700 feet, one of the ride officials said +1000 feet).

that 3rd climb up Forest Service Road #70 was very tough. The false summit after the 12% grade section was bad enough, but to have to hit the back side of it again at 12% after the turnaround took most of the rest of the life outta my legs. I do a lot of hill riding and I have to say I think this is one of the hardest courses you will find. My legs are still toasty today.

Luckily, I remembered that the 12 percent grade on the backside was preceded by a slight downhill, so I was able to carry enough momentum to haul me half way up that climb. The remainder of the climb, though, was wicked slow and painful. All good fun! :D

Elevation gain is a contentious topic - it depends a fair bit on the algorithms that are used.

Based on what I rode, applying a few corrections here and there, and adding in the extra climb, I'd say 11K
