Travis AFB, in California had a sprint tri today and I entered it. My last tri (first one) i really was bad in the water. Today I did better, but still not good enough. Anyway I was nervous as always before the race. But when I hopped in the pool I relaxed a little. We did 500m and I finished in 10:23 which is pretty good for me(1:02/lap). I was in the slow swim group, but second out of the pool. I left T1 before the guy that beat me out of the pool. T1 was pretty smooth no problems there. Then the bike.. I used my new p2c and did ok.. but I was hoping for better. the ride was 11.8 miles and I finished that in 32:23 avg speed was 21.9mph there was a really decent headwind slowed me more that I liked! T2 wasn't too bad either. The 4 or 5 bricks that I've done helped between the bike and run. I didn't feel too bad off of the bike. Anyway I did 3.5 miles in 25:17 which if I'm doing my math right comes out to 7:22 mile.. Is my math right? my total time was 1:09:32 on my watch.. but they called out my time as 1:09:25.... I got first in my age group 33-39 and 2nd over all... overall winner got 1:05 something... anyway.. I need to pick up my swim, bike and run a little.. :) I guess I haven't been training enough..

ummmm, ok
Yes, you need to pick up your training, your run and swim times were pathetic and you shouldn't even be allowed to ride that bike with that kind of avg mph. You took second, was this a kids tri?

thanks for the encouragement... it was only my 2nd tri.. and the wind was about 18 knots = 20.7 mph so my avg wasn't that bad... i'll make sure i swim bike and run extra hard for you tomorrow...

I wasn't sure if the guy was joking or not. It is the internet and sometimes it's kind of hard to get the "feeling" of people's posts. I even went back and looked for other posts from this guy to see if he was an ass to everyone... He wasn't. So honestly I'm not sure if this guy is a dickhead or just messing with me. I thought some of my times were ok too...
they were very good bro... you are on the right track. don't ever listen to that kind of negativity. Cowards always talk the loudest.

Probably a drunk post. Hell, I'd take a 21.9 mph average today. Of course, I'm currently riding a hybrid, but still not too shabby.
