They're both "mens" bikes...I think the guy only said woman's because it was his wife's, unless there's some female geometry I don't know about.

Darn it, solveg! I keep telling myself not to check the local CL, and there you are sneaking up on me, making me think that I need to add to my collection.
Sigh...it's a good thing I need those tiny bikes. If I rode a 54 or 56cm I'd be unable to move for lack of room :) .
East Hill
I fired off an email to the guy. They may be pretty decent bikes for someone and at that price, affordable. I can tune them up at my new maintenance class! I'm not a big specialized person, myself. Too modern, I guess.
There's also a guy selling an almost complete Ultegra grupo for $300. Missing the crank pedal, I think. Great deal, but for me, half of the fun is finding the stuff already on the bike.
Hmm, and I just saw a 52CM on Indianapolis CL the other day. It's already gone, but it was a Thomasini (Spelling?)! If it had been a 58CM, it would have been GONE....to me!:D
When I say tiny, I mean 49cm and under.
As I said, it's the only reason the garage is not overflowing with bikes.

Yah, well I'm keeping my eyes open for a tiny Paramount or RB1 for you, East Hill.
A Paramount....I know that they did come in my size (although I bet there are not many of them out there). I would be willing to be that when one finally does show up in my size, it will probably be pristine.
A Bridgestone RB1 would be nice too. Just nothing that needs to be shipped.
I'm going to need to de-accession some bikes...does anyone local to me need a nice medium size frame Raleigh mixte? Free to good home? Anyone?

I stole... I mean bought my Trek Pilot off of the MPLS/St.Paul CL. It took me about 3 weeks to find a deal that worked out, but it happens.
If I lived up there, I'd buy a ton more from CL. Unfortunately it cost me $50 round trip to drive up there and back, so it usually doesn 't pay for me.
That is a great deal on the Allez. In a couple months I want to get a road bike and have been leaning towards the Allez, but if this were near me at that price, I would snatch that up in a matter of seconds. :p
They never wrote back to me, so I assume they're gone. I was going to go store them for someone* to eventually want them. You can't get a set of tires for that money.

Yeah, well I'm right here in the cities, so you can send me over.
I could have used you in a similar fashion when there were 2 antique mohair chairs for free in an alley in austin!
I was reading the board today, and someone said the Surly Long Haul Trucker had the same geometry as the Atlantis, but for less money. Then I read that a Schwinn High Sierra had the same geometry as a Surly LHT, but for way* less money. So, I'm thinking High Sierra=Atlantis geometrically speaking.
Go onto Craig's List, and one was just put up today! Doesn't look remotely like my Atlantis.
But some of you guys may want to consider that bike. It's called an off-road touring bike, and it was one of the first. It looks like it's built like a tank, with lots of braze-ons for carrying gear and a nice relaxed geometry.
I myself am banning myself from Craigslist for a while.
