We have had some hot weather here for the past couple of weeks getting up to 45 C (113 F).
Instead of the normal 120 Km saturday ride, we took a short 2 hr run in the area - back at 08:00 and already at 30 C (86 F). The heat was so bad I got exhausted just watching the TdF on TV.

Anybody live where the weather is perfect all year round and the roads are good for cycling?
I hope the weather is treating you better.

take care y'all

Hot enough to reliquify the cow manure on the road surfaces. Cows sometime cross roads to make it in for milking. They love the raucous splatter sound on hard pavement, probably wait all day till they can come on in--saving it all the while. First the heat dries it to a jerky like texture, then under super heat and humidity, it slicks up just enough to catch me coming round the corner. Except, unknown to the cows, I have my no-slide Pasela 32mm cow sh*t waders. Those thwarted cows aren't chewing their cud-- they're grinding their molars with frustration at the Panaracer tire company.

Of course, the road-side enemy here is amazingly adaptive and are no doubt even at this moment developing a dietary alteration to deflect my Paselas. So it goes here at mid-summer.

Don't know about the perfect weather as we are having a bit of Rain over here- and have been for several months. OK its raining and I do not like wet rides- But I have been able to get out every Sunday- except for about 2 this year and I ride every other Evening and haven't missed getting in 2 or 3 rides a week either. So plenty of rain to keep the Countryside green and keep the Muck off the roads- But intersperced with enough good warm Sunny days to say that it is almost perfect riding over here.

Just roll on November when we can have a summer.

Here in sunny central Fla it is far hotter than is reasonable. Except for June - September, the weather here is great for riding. When it's really hot, I've learned to fill and freeze my bottles; a 20 oz. bottle will thaw fully in 45-60 minutes, which is about the right time for drinking it.

Heat wave here, too. I hear San Diego is the best place for the most temperate and even climate anywhere in US!
Sure isn't in ND! Cold in winter, hot in summer!

San Diego, Santa Barbara or Morro Bay.

No, despite the generous rainfall, our summer heat has finally begun.

Actually had to give up my commuting to work this week with temps in lower 90's and humidity around 75%...[for Pete's sake, don't post this to the Commuting Forum). I know, I know, that's not bad, really. Except my re-set hypothalamus from a serious heat stroke as a kid has become a genuine disability at 50+. Riding home from work in the late afternoons has left me trembling, slightly dizzy, unable to eat dinner and generally drained. This is only over 4 miles of flat terrain at 10 mph! My body is telling me something that I did not really want to hear.

So it's back to the gym for me until September when my riding season can begin again.
