Introductions - Hi from GA

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi--I'm new around here--I live in the south metro Atlanta area and I'm a mom of two, wife and special education teacher. I recently bought a Giant Cypress DX for use in my neighborhood and on path trails. I don't much about biking but I'm ready to learn! My dd is 4 (almost 5) and I'm trying to get her used to a bike--I just picked up a trail behind/tag along bike for her off of craig's list and I hope it'll get her used to the feel of a bike for when she gets a little bigger.

I'd love to find people in my area to ride with--I have an interest in street cycling and there are tons of cyclers around here but I'm not sure I've got that kind of stamina and I certainly don't have the right bike!

Welcome, Cristy. The stamina will come, I promise you. If you can get out as close to daily as possible, even just for short rides, you will be amazed at the changes. As for the bike - big heavy ones give you a good workout. :)

There are many, many members in your area. RonH will probably come and tell you more, but for the moment, don't forget to check out the regional forums to say hello.

Welcome to BF!

Hi Cristy and welcome to BF.
I see you've already found the Southeast Regional subforum.
There are lots of riders in your part of town and lots of rides for folks who aren't quite ready for the cat 3 races. ;)
