I have located 3 different Bridgestone MB-1s, all different year models. Is there any paticular year that was better than another? Any models to stay away from? Thanks in advance for your reply.

I know the earlier ones were lugged and made in Japan. That's what I'm looking for. Especially if it has the neat looking double flat crown fork.

I think they were all lugged and made in Japan, no?

I would like to know also. I have been sitting on a MB-1 frame for a while. I figured it was one of the early ones based on the components that came on it (shimano deer head), but it just has a normal crown fork. The fork is clearly original, btw.

Not sure what to do with this thing, since it is a tad too small for me. Not sure if it is desireable enough to warrant trying to sell on ebay or not.

The catalogs are online, so you can compare and decide for yourself.

The '93 with the Ritchey biplane fork is probably the most sought after:

Some people don't like the earlier models with more "kick" in the fork.

All MB-1's were lugged and made in Japan.

MB-1 prices were extremely high when I was looking for one. I ended up buying an MB-2 and upgrading the components.

I know that all the MB1s were lugged and built in Japan. I think the MB2s were also. The MB3 went from a lugged Japanese frame to a tigged Taiwanese frame somewhere in the 91-93 time frame. It was still a very nice bike.

Here's my '88 MB-2. I have it set up for street riding. I'm too old to play in the dirt.

It's the bike I take to the beach. All of the nuts and bolts are either stainless or titanium.
