Hey Ya'll,

Here is a picture of my modified Schwinn Sting Ray Electric:

Here it is glowing:

I was out for a test ride. I let off the throttle to slow down for a bump. After the bump I twisted the throttle but the motor didn't pull. Soon after I noticed that the motor was pulling with no throttle input, but it was barely pulling and would not stop unless I switched it off.

The stock batteries are 12 Volt 12AH Sealed Lead Acid. I'm using 12V 35AH SLA wheelchair batteries mounted in the saddlebags. At the time this happened the saddle bags were only mounted at the top and the bump caused the bags to bounce. I came to the conclusion that the bounce damaged the electric wires going into the motor, but even though I found damage to the wire, after I rewired it it's still doing the same thing. I'm very new to the electric bike thing, but I'm thinking it may be a controller issue. I mounted the controller to a piece of sheet metal and hid it in a saddle bag with the battery, but it was a very short ride when this happened. I do not think it's a heat issue, because it's still stuck in a very low power on.

Does anyone know what might be the problem or where I might find someone who might be able to help me?

Thanks,

Allan Greenblazer

It's probably choked with horrible, radioactive green gunge.

Best take it to a nuclear recycling facility and have it destroyed.
