I'm considering switching my new Bianchi Vigorelli from a triple crank to a double. This would require that I purchase a new crank and front and rear derailleurs, and I'd probably get a new chain (probably an SRAM 89R or 99) too. That whole setup will cost about $200. I have no idea how much components depreciate, but how much could I sell my basically new Ultegra triple components (crank w/rings, f and r derailleurs, and chain) for? Sorry if this isn't the correct place to ask these sort of questions, I'm still pretty new here. Thanks everyone.

You might be able to arrange an even up trade with someone. I decided against buying some bikes because they were Ultegra doubles and I had wanted the Triple. Just keep posting in the sell-trade section below and see what happens.

You will need a new, shorter bottom bracket as well.

Just curious why you want to go with a double crank instead of the triple? I just bought a Vigorelli and the triple crank was something I "think" I wanted. Is it just you don't have a need for the gearing that the triple provides?

Just dont use the 3rd ring. Ive got a triple. I havent shifted into the 3rd ring in as long as I can remember. If I had a choice, Id take a double, but I dont think Id spend the money to change it later.

I'm just very used to riding on a double. I've never used a triple on a road bike, or have I felt that I needed one. Also, there is a touch of ego in me saying that I don't like the look. ;) Otherwise, I love the bike.

I'm not looking to spend a lot of money doing this. I'm actually pretty sure this will be free, or almost nearly so.
