Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm thinking about doing a mini-tour to Long Island either this week or next, and I was wondering what the procedure was for taking a bike on the Port Jefferson Ferry. I was hoping on riding down to Bridgeport, taking the ferry to Port Jeff, then going on to Islip state park to camp, and returning the next day.

Good question.
There's nothing on the website on how much they charge for cyclist. You better call because mopeds get charged $38.00 USD!!! Find out and post later. I might do this but in the opposite direction!

Update:
I called yesterday, and the skinny I got from the information line is that there is no additional charge for a bike, but you need to bring the bike with you at all times.
