What is the best way to lock a recumbent like a Bacchetta? I was looking and couldn't find a real secure way to lock one.

There's a lock on the market that looks like an oversized pair of handcuffs... I know a couple of B owners that use it

Something like the Kryptonite Noose chain might work. Not a photo of a recumbent, but you should get the idea. There are two sizes, 70 cm and 130cm.

Those over sized bondage Hand Cuffs are sooo easy to break,,, the link between the two half's is the fault. I watched demo's of how easy it is to break those things ( seconds ),, but used for other things those cuffs are really cool:rolleyes:

Thanks. I knew it had to be pretty small diameter. I've read about the New York Noose.

I have a long stem onguard u lock. It is 11in and will lock up a recumbents rear wheel to a post. You can fit your front wheel too if you want to do a full lock up

I have the cuffs. Like just about any chain out there they can be lopped off, but unless you're going to carry around a 30 pound chain they work fine. I only need them on my rack, though.

You could use locking skewers on the wheels and then U-lock and/or chain & lock the wheels. Bike Forums has threads on locking skewers. Peter White Cycles sells the Pitlock (http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/pitlock.asp) skewers which the threads indicate is the nicer (stainless so will not rust) but unfortunately more expensive.
I wonder if a U-lock of just the right inner throat width and depth could be locked around the main boom and not slide off. One way might be putting it diagonally with one part of the U on one side of the down tube (e.g. ahead) above the boom and the other side of the U on the other side of the down tube (e.g. behind) below the boom.
