And I have a question. From here in Everett, what are some good bike shops with road bikes? Beside Bicycle Centers because I have alread been there. I can drive to Mill Creek but you know any other bike shops close to everett?

I'm in the Everett area as well. There's Gregg's Alderwood Cycle at the Alderwood Mall (or near it, at least). Other than that, there's really not much that I'm aware of worth seeing until you get closer to Seattle. The guys at Bicycle Centres are a cool bunch though - they don't leave much to be desired in my book - and I'm kind of picky like that.

What do you mean they don't leave much to be desired? I have heard that phrase before but never understood it. Gregg's alderwood cycle, they have cheap road bikes haha?

By "don't leave much to be desired", I mean they fit the ticket for what I look for in an LBS: great bike selection of mid-to-high level bikes, great selection of gear that's readily available and doesn't have to be ordered, etc. There are other bike shops in the area, but few of them cater to more than the casual/new/budget-minded cyclist, whereas Bicycle Centres and Gregg's cater to the more seasoned/dedicated/racer crowd without excluding those just getting into the sport on a limited budget.

In other words, if you want to test-ride a 2007/2008 Specialized Tarmac with full Dura Ace, then BC and Gregg's are the places to look. I'm unaware of other local Snohomish County shops that the same thing could be said of. Not that they don't ultimately have access to high-end bikes, but just that far fewer shops carry the high-end spectrum of bikes than those who don't.

Yea, i fall into the budgeted, new cyclist who doesn't have more than 500 bucks to spend so i'm looking on ebay for a quality bike. Thanks for your input appreciate it.

We are neighbors. In your price range, there is also Bicycles West, in Lynnwood, along Highway 99, just north of the Costco.

I suggest Craigs list. There is a bike shop on Broadway called Tim's (Jay and Chris are their names no Tim) they have a selection of used road bikes. And are you talking about Bicycle Centres in Mill Creek? There is also one at 51st and Evergreen.

CORRECT! I knew I was forgetting one, but couldn't remember. They also have a great selection and good prices.

Is Tim's on Broadway in Everett? I have never seen it and I am very interested. Not a big fan of Bicycle Centres personally. Seems like too much of a chain to me. Maybe it's just because I don't know them. Others here seem to like them so there must be something to it.

Greg's alderwood will have quality, new road bikes from Trek, Lemond, and Specialized at just around 650-750 bucks.

you could also check out Spokemotion? in oldtown Monroe. they have always impressed me when I stop in on a ride.

Yes, Tim's is on Broadway. Tim's primarily specializes in BMX and cross country and downhill MTBs. They do not have a very broad selection of road bikes and do not have a large selection of parts and accessories. But if you want to customize your BMX, Tim's is the place to go to.

The Mill Creek Bicycle Center is a ten minute ride from my home, and the Everett Bicycle Center is a ten minute walk from my office. Both of those stores have done a good job by me, and if you are a member of the BIKES club here in Snohomish county, you get 10% off all accessories. Some of the other local bikeshops give this discount as well.

I built up by BMX bike at tims, well bought everything from them, except the frame. I have a power light pro, landing gear fork, GT stem and head, black widow 3 piece crank, redline handlebars, max daddy tires, nice rims. Well worth 400 bucks. Used to jump it obviously, was pretty good, built jumps w/ my brothers 10 ft-20ft gaps, go big or go home right?

But now i'm here going to ride road bikes, trying to find one cheap. I'm thinking Windsor Bristol.

Spokemotion in Monroe -- on Main Street, a block west of Lewis (the street that becomes the road to Duvall) is worth visiting. Knowledgeable staff, pretty wide selection. If I had "needed" another bike in early July, the Moser (used) which was there would have been a candidate!
