I commute every day, but I like to engage in different training exercises during the rides. Hill sprints, intervals, etc. Normally, I will ride hard, both rides (to/from work) in one day, then easy (again, both rides) the next for recovery. I was thinking that it may be better to ride hard one ride (morning), ride easy that evening, then easy again the next morning - to allow for full recovery/muscle building. Then, I would attack the ride again during the evening ride. If I followed this schedule, I would be allowing 24 hours for recovery, instead of the usual 8 hours. Of course, the rides are only 45 minutes, so I'm not sure the damage/recovery necessarily warrants more time.

Is this a better regimen? What are your opinions?
