I needed a Helmet for this weekends ride so we went to Kozy's Cyclery in Chicago very nice place very helpful staff. Well I just needed a helmet and shes not all that into the bicycle but to my surprise shes like Hey honey you need some gloves I know you said your hands go numb. I said sure. How about a lock for your bike? I said sure. How about one of these multi tools what did you want an alien? I said sure. Well after this I was like Ok what the hell do you want and why are you being so nice :P. hehe so in all I got the helmet (Bell Venture) gloves (specialized padded) Lock (just a 10' onguard cable), Multi-tool (Alien II), Insulated water bottle, patch kit, and another water bottle holder. $160 not bad.

I still think this is leading up to something or she did something wrong and is making up for it what ever it is go me!!!! :P

 Something is in the bushes. But you will LOVE the padded gloves. I can't imagine riding my bike without them anymore. So comfy to ride with bike gloves.

Whatever it is, it's going to be worth it......

You get bike gear, she gets pretty bling and you don't have to sleep on the sofa!

Or shoes.... How come the "it was on sale" excuse doesn't work for guys? "Look honey I bought a $250,000 Bentley Arnage for $125,000! Of course we'll have to sleep in it but it was on sale.."

My wife went with me to the bike store when I dropped a grand on my new Surly LHT. She informed me that, seeing as how next year is our 30th anniversary, she's going to want to be visiting the jewelry stores!

What goes around, comes around!

It is about a 1 to 3 ratio at our house.
What ever I spend.....she winds up spending 3 times as much.
It doesn't start out that way. She plans on spending the same amount,{yeh right } but then it just keeps creaping up until you look back and say how did that happen.......again.

Went to the Bellevue Arts Fair with my fiancee this weekend.
Hand thrown/glazed matching coffee mug and glass: $45 (She's got a new job/new office, wants new stuff to go in it.)
Two pairs of earrings: $175 (although, I gotta admit they do look really good.)

CGK1's next bike related purchase: Blast/Powdercoat for '91 PDG Series 5 restoration project. (Maybe that's what I'll ask for since my birthday is coming up.);)

Should I tell you guys about sending Mr. East Hill off to his favourite local gunsmith every couple of weeks with a few hundred bucks cash in his pocket, and my blessing to spend it however he wishes?

My wife and I recently sold our car to pay off some debt. Well, in theory I would biking to work everyday in the meantime. Hey, sounded like it was worth it. I'd get to pay off my outstanding debt of $3000! Tough for me... Well this is how it ended up: My wife gets to pay off her debt ($3,600) and uses the rest of the money to buy a cheap car. I get $200 and keep my debt. Dunno, but I think I got screwed there, given that I'm the only one with a job in the house!!!!

Well, wife's debt is clear and off your back....net gain!:D

$200 will buy a nice bike off CL, so there's that!:D

Your debt can be concentrated on now.:D

It's all in how you look at it!;)

Don't let your wife stack up any new debt though, at least for now!

Sorry to laugh at your expense kiteboarder, but that's hilarious! You sold your car to pay off your debt, and you end up riding your bike to work while your wife has a clean slate on her credit cards!!! Man, that's funny in a sad kind of way... But I feel for ya! Keep an eye on that one!

Sounds fair to me, after all.......youre the one with the job.......can't expect her to pay of her dept without a job can you?

I hope you parked the new bike in the guest room with you. Not point in leaving it in the garage if you've got all that room to yourself.:D:D

What did you get for that $1000?
