I noticed this earlier this evening. One of the forum members has conformed. Instead of posting questions about how to get fit- or get comfortable on the bike or how it should be set up, this forum member has started to make a few comments that are with the correct response that should be on this forum.
So watch out- This Forum will start to affect your sense of Humour. And Yen is the latest one to be infected.
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

England and the USA, two countries divided by a common language.
(I think it was a "little yen is growing up" post. May be the last one you'll get, so enjoy it!)

When are you going to learn houw to spell?
Unfortunately- some one has said it. 2 countries divided by a common language. I have a spell checker but I am afraid that it is for the English language. Even I try to adulterate the language by spelling it wrongly, Two things stop me. "Me" and "my rotten spelling"
Just out of interest- How long have the Americans been using the English language? With all that practice since independance I would have thought you would have got it right by now.
Stapfam: My grandmother was from England. She would correct us kids to speak "properly" in an exaggerated manner..... e.g. Tuesday isn't "Toosday", it's "Tewsday". Drove my parents crazy!

I live in the South of England and Our accent is a bit rough to say the least. If you can imagine the Cockney accent- as that is about the nearest I can relate it to- and that is how we speak down here. Now if I go up to Jibi's neck of the woods- I doubt as to whether I could understand the local dialects.
The true and proper English "Posh" voice is not heard very often nowadays as that accent comes with money-I mean real money- and that is decreasing over here.
Sorry about this but I do not mean "Posh & Becks" when I say Posh voice. In fact come to think of it- Becks comes from the East End of London but his voice is a Put on Posh voice. But you can still hear where he originates from though.
I have a cousin in England with whom I communicate frequently via email. If I had a nickel for every extra 'U' he used I would be a very rich man today. They go to all lengths to sound proper, then slaughter the words or use the wrong definition. For example you would think Edinburgh would pronounced similar to Pittsburgh, but no, it's Edinborough. La de dah! What's a rubber you ask? .. the thing on the other end of a pencil if you're a Brit. Just having fun step.
My grandmother left England and her parents when she was about 15 year old, around 1913, and sailed to Canada where her older twin brothers were already living. To this day it is a mystery why she left, alone, a girl in her mid-teens, but from what I've read in my genealogy research there was a lot of poverty in England at that time so perhaps her parents sent her off for a better life with her brothers in Canada. She was born in Carlisle and her family lived in that same area at the time she left. Her family has presented the greatest genealogical obstacles in my research and she gave very little information when she was alive. If I had one wish, I think it would be to have the opportunity to ask her about her family and why she came here.
She did not have a strong British accent, but it was noticeable.

No problems with Fun being taken out of the proper "English"- written or spoken as I know there are differences between the two nations. We have the same rivalry over here beween the "French" and the English- and the Scots and the English and the Aussies and the Engish and the Krauts and the Paddys and-- You name it and we seem to upset everyone.
One thing I am gratefull for is that We do not have G W Bush adulterating our Language. Instead we have a scotsman that has an atrocious accent. Almost as bad as the last one that had trouble speaking it but once he started- he never stopped.

I absolutely agree. However, we keep working with it and are continuously improving it.

Jay Leno can't spell worth a &&&&, it has not seemed to hurt him.
I had to read Stapfam's post several times to see where the spelling mistake was.
I still can't see it.
He makes a humoured post with colourful prose through the internet. ;)
Nothing wrong with it at all. Perfect spelling.
Must be a British thing. :D
