At least it keeps me from watching the markets and watching the retirement funds go down the drain.

So what kind of party did you have a week or so ago when the Dow was shooting up?

You have Ruby. She'll never let you down. Bikes in times of no money are better than money in times of no bikes, or whatever it was we used to say about an herbal substance from my youth.

No party, I'm a saver. Besides, at my age, parties take too long to recouperate from.

No retirement for ten years. I'll worry about the market then. It goes up, it goes down, kinda like my cycling: very slowly up, very quickly down.

I remember parties at my parents' retirement community. Started 5:30 p.m. Saturday and were over by 7:00. Most people showed up at 4:45 so they could hit the cheeze doodle line early and get out the door before 6:00. Somebody save me from this fate.

Not to worry, DG......you can come live with me. I've staked out a nice spot under the 9th St. Bridge. And, you'll love this, I've been saving my cat food coupons so we'll eat well enough.

Do you prefer sardine offal or turkey organs? Or, like C-rations (dates me, huh) we can mix, match and swap. There's even a veggie choice for the health conscious and to keep us regular.

Sardines are high in Omega 3s. You're always thinking CC.

Oh, the thrill of having a party every Saturday night, with Cheez Doodles! The luxury of it all!
I'm moving out to the back woods, where the biggest thrill on a Saturday night is to watch the sun go down and the mosquitoes tuck their napkins under their chins, and whet their proboscises :p

"....you were lucky. We lived for three months in a paper bag in a septic tank. We used to have to get up at six in the morning, clean the paper bag, eat a crust of stale bread..."

The markets just backing up so I can get back in. My wise brother-in-law had me pull my funds out prior to the downturn - about 9 months early. At least I'm bike rich.

Geeze, the Dow went from 14000 or so to the middle 13's. Hardly the stuff of ruination. It's a long term game anyway, I've got another ten years or so, and I'm still betting on it being the best place to park money for the long haul.

Be your own boss, days filled with leisure, no need for an alarm clock -- ride your bicycle whenever you want. At least that is what I heard...:D
