Anyone ever use the MTB Avid BB7 mechanical disc brakes with road levers? How did it work out?

looks like it's no problem - as long as the levers work with cantilever brakes and are not intended for v-brakes it should be ok I think
probably better if this question was in mechanical
Actually, I'm looking at the reverse - road levers with MTB calipers. I know I can't use V brakes with road levers, but I wonder if there's any difference with discs. I'm building up a Nashbar CX frame with discs - which is why I'm asking here.
Thanks
There is a special BB7 made for road levers.
Yeah, I know, but someone is trying to convince me to use the MTB ones on hand. I don't expect they'll work, but I wondered if anyone here has tried it successfully.

They'll only work with Travel Agents or perhaps Dia Compe 287-V brake levers.
