I will be in DFW from 8-17 - 8-26 on vacation visiting family and to ride the HHH.

For a while I have been planning to pack up my bike the week before and ship it down. Do some group rides with my old riding group as well as the HHH, and ship it back home.

However, the logistics and cost (as well as worrying that my bike is going to get trashed during the trip) are giving me second thoughts.

Additionally, I have a race the Tuesday after I get back from DFW (HHH is Saturday), and I would not have my bike back in time.

So where am I going with this?

I need to know if anyone has a spare road bike I can borrow/rent while I am in town to do my rides.
I'm willing to pay if need be, I just can't afford the $100-$200 a bike from RBM would cost.

I ride a 58 currently, but could probably fit on a 56 or 60 if need be.

I will provide my own pedals and saddle.

Thanks in advance if anyone is interested.

OR

If anyone knows any shops that rent that are somewhat cheaper than RBM (say $50 a week) to rent a bike, please let me know.

My fiancee has a Trek 1200 frame I'm sure he'd let you use but I'll have to see what other components he has that weren't transferred over to the Specialized Tarmac frame he got. I'm pretty sure he has an extra set of wheels. He had done a lot of upgrades and I don't know what he has left that wasn't sold on Ebay. He'll be back in town tomorrow and I'll check with him and let you know.

Are you going to be in the Dallas or the Fort Worth side? You might try http://bicyclesinc.com or http://www.colonelsbikes.com . The first has multiple locations; the second is in Fort Worth. I would offer up one of mine, but don't imagine you could fit a 55cm Bianchi. Bicycle's Inc. also sponsors a team (linked from their website) that may be able to help you out.

I've got a "spare" 58 trek 2200. It's my back up for my scott. I am also doing the HHH. Send me a pm.

If everything else craps out I have a Lemond Zurich 58 with Dura Ace 52-39 front 12-25 rear or a Mongoose IBOC 60 with old 105.

Check with Plano Cycle and Fitness too and we now have performance bike stores too.

Fred -- You are welcome to use my 58cm Cinelli Proxima while you are here. It is fully equipped and road ready. It has an uncut steer tube so there is plenty of room for adjusting it to your liking. I use a Zero setback seatpost for my optimum power output but I also have another seatpost with setback if necessary to get the bike dialed in for you.

Let me know if you need to borrow it while you are here.

Fred,
all mine are in the 54-56 range, however if you can't find a ride for HHH let me know
you can take you pick of any that I have that are roadworthy.
