Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just got my london mod , knarps, slic cables and M2 lever in the mail from Empire. They were out of the Medium levers so I got the Small one instead. I'm looking at it and hoping it's not too small, but I'm sure I'll get used to it as long as it helps my Six Pack stop a little better.

Stopping is sooo two years ago.
I can see the attraction to running brakeless, but there's no way in hell I'd do it. Too many steep hills, too much traffic. Besides, as dumb as it is, I like locking the back wheel and sliding around corners.

Brakeless works more than fine for me.
It's not hard to stop with your foot, but in a pinch brakes are often a life saver. I know they've saved my ass from idiot drivers before.

I just always have my foot ready to jam in the tire when crossing streets.

I love the retro appeal of brakes though... makes me misty-eyed and all sentimental. Must be why I run my seat high too.

Pfff. I just keep my finger on my lever, and scream at the cars that i'm not stopping. It's more fun, because you know that if they don't hear you or don't listen, you can still stop without dying. Word up.

Well, it's hard to be prepared like that if you're accelerating and some moron pulls out, or some stupid ped doesn't even look and steps right in your way.
