Vehicular Cycling (VC) - different levels of ability amongst "vehicular cyclists"

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

From my original post.....

There are different levels of traffic comfortability and riding ability among bicyclists that understand how to ride on the roads like vehicles.......

all-road traffic competancy is not automatically assured just because someone understands how to ride like a vehicle- there are many levels of ability among the so called 'vehicular cyclists.'

You fail to understand the consistency of the vehicular cycling advocates' position:

Operate in the vehicular manner, or don't ride your bike on that corridor and/or at that time.

Hmmmm, that's interesting. The VC position gives me an option. It allows me to either be vehichular by riding in the vehichular manner, or it allows me to be vehichular by not riding that corridor. So if I choose not to ride a particular corridor I am being vehichular! so choosing an alternate corridor is a vehichular action.

My commute allows me to take a bike path as an alternate to riding a very busy highway, nice to know that choosing not to ride the highway makes me a vehichular cyclist.:)
