I posted in the general forum, and it was suggested that I come here and post. I just got into cycling in February. Have lost about 50 lbs. and have another 50 to go to 200. I am having such a great time riding, I want to reward myself with a new bike. I have it narrowed down to the De Rosa Corum and the Colnago Master X Light. I am hopeful that someone might help me, as neither have been available for me to ride and I have to buy the frame without the benefit of having test road either. I want a hill climber, as my goal is to Ride the Rockies next summer. I also want a frame that not only looks pretty and is fast, but will come out of the box without defects and will provide years of worry free riding. Any help is appreciated!

Can you find a dealer for either near you to try either one out? That would help you a lot! Either are very nice bikes.

The DeRosa is a Steel frame, and I'm heavily biased in favor of steel, by the way!

Either one will be a very, very nice bike!

I would spec your wheels for your weight though and would suggest 36 spoke Deep V for your wheelset!
