Does anyone know of a good resource for charting the history (i.e., progression of sponsorships) of the teams in the ProTour? For example, I know that Discovery was formerly Postal, which was formerly Motorola, which was formerly 7-11. And Caisse d'Epargne was formerly Banesto, and Astana was formerly Liberty Seguros, etc.

Someone, somewhere, must have charted out a fairly complete list. A couple of half-assed Google searches turned up nothing. Any ideas from the big brains around here? Thanks in advance!

Disco/USPS came from Subaru/Montgomery, not Motorola/7-Eleven.

Before Caisse/Banesto, they were Reynolds.

I think we had a thread about this before, might want to do a search.

It'd be fun to see a complete list. Ahh, memories...

And somewhere along the line, before 7-11, they were Wheaties, no?

Montgomery/Bell was in between Subaru/Montgomery and USPS. There was no team in 1994 and two of my 1994 teammates left for Montgomery/Bell in 1995.

7-11 and Schwinn/Wheaties were two different teams that competed against each other as well as against Schwinn/Icy Hot

This has been covered somewhere.

Caisse d'Epargne was Isles Ballears two years ago.

It would be easier if teams kept sponsor names separate from team names, a la F1.

Oh yeah.

So it was Reynolds-Banesto-Isles Ballears-Caisse Depargne (sp?)

It's noted on many of their Wiki pages

They were. I think it was Wordperfect>Novell.
