In my never-ending search to find a ride for all weekend days I have available, I have come across this ride.

http://www.napervillesunrise.com/Ride/index.htm

Anyone have a review on this ride from past years? Planning on doing it this time around?

I haven't really found anything else up in my area for this Sunday, but I'm not sure I feel like getting up so early to make it down there by 6:30am .... unless it's a really nice ride.

Never heard of it. Wish I could go, but I am baby-sitting/parenting this weekend. Wife is working.

It's a nice ride. I have done it the past 2 years. The rest stop in Oswego is right by my house :)

Thanks for the info wingnut.

Since I have nothing better to do, and no big plans to stay out late Saturday night, I guess I can force myself to get up early and head down there.

Are you thinking of doing it too whitesox?

yep I am doing it. Just committed to going with a male friend from work. You are welcome to ride with us. I don't know his speed, but he assures me he goes at least 15mph. but you can tag along and if we are too slow, you can go ahead...

but you and wingnut are more than welcome to join us... or maybe we'll just join you, LOL!!

I have the red/white helmet with the Giant OCR C3 composite grey/red bike.

We're going to meet at the race approx 6:30am so we can start early. What time were thinking of getting there SJCzar??... and wingnut too?... what time are you guys thinking of starting to ride?

SJCzar... you still have the funky colored Madone? ;):p

I might just do that ride. I am going to be with family in Palos Heights and can easily escape early Sunday morning. Well, when I say "easily," I really mean with tools and lockpicks; then I can escape.

well look for us. SJCzar has a funky Madone bike... LOL!! Very pretty, can't miss it :) If she is there, I should be near her, if I find her and if she's not too fast for us... he he :)

If you did want to be identified, how would one identify you??... that's if you so choose of course

i have a blue Serotta and I will have to post later on my jersey. I just wore a green TdF points jersey today and it's really comfortable, so I might wear it there. I generally don't like wearing printed jerseys though. My other favorite is a Specialized one that's blue and white.

My bibs are Decente and they have a white chevron down both legs.

I feel funny wearing my Horrible Hilly Hundred... bit since I see the other big shots wearing those, maybe I'll pull out mine:D My claim to fame... that HHH ride:D. It was hard, but it certainly wasn't impossible... like it was told to me:rolleyes:

I doubt I'll wear it, since it's not sleeveless... and wearing anything but sleeveless in the summer, is just a damn shame, LOL!:p

here... I will most likely be wearing this... the only sleevless jersey I own...

I know, I know... I wore it to Wilmot Ramble and to HHH... so it's at least given me good luck:D

I will get on the road nice and early (by 4:00-4:30 ish, yikes) to be down there and ready to roll by 6:30.

Like whitesox said, it shouldn't be too difficult to find me....pink, blue, and orange bike.

I'm looking forward to meeting up with you guys and having a great ride. See ya Sun.

Yes, I am being a wimp, but it's 4:00am here in Wisconsin and it's pouring.

Looking at the forecast for Naperville, they are calling for thunderstorms in the morning with scattered showers all afternoon. It seems like too long of a drive for a ride in such crappy weather.

I'm going back to bed. Maybe next year.

good call... we ended up not going either. it did pour all morning, we we made a wise choice.

i was thinking of you and was wondering if you went and would be waiting for us :( i didn't think about logging in here, but i will do that in the future in case we have the same situation again.

on another note, not sure if you're thinking of doing the Psycho Century... but another friend of mine and I are definitely doing that one. If you're interested, let me know and we'll look for you. The ride is 8/26... :)

I was hoping that you had either saw my post, or decided not to do it yourself. I didn't want you to be waiting around looking for me at the start.

It turned out not being so bad up here, but I heard that the weather down there was nasty all day. I think we definitely made the right call on that one.

I won't be doing the Psycho Century. I've been doing the Cream City Century for the past few years and it's the same day.

I planned on starting the ride at 7AM. We got to the parking lot and it was raining just a little bit. Got registered and then it started to dump. It let up around 8AM so we jumped on the bikes and headed out. Did not even make it out of the parking lot and it really started to rain again. We kept going and it rained hard most of the way to the first rest stop.

After that is was actually OK weather. We did 57 miles. The number of riders was really down from previous rides I have done there.

You are much less of a fair weather rider than I am wingnut. I wonder how many, if any, riders went the whole 100.
