View Full Version : Warmest day of the year?
It's about 95 degrees F right now in Lansing, MI. The TV weatherman said this might be the warmest day of the year, and in fact it's the warmest day in the last four years.
Where do you live, and what is the hottest temperature you expect this year? I know a lot of you will beat 95F!

I livw in middle GA, and the hottest day for me so far is around 97. With at least that much humidity.
We usually hover right around 90 all summer. Thankfully, I can sense that fall is aproaching. Another few weeks of heat, and the nights will start cooling off nicely. That'll make the morning rides a lot more fun.

Down here in DFW texas it is way too cool for this time of year. Last year we would be on our 20th day or 100 degree plus heat. This year I don't think we have broken 100 yet.
Monday I think we had far worse though. An ozone alert, tropical level dew point and a high 80% humidity I could hardly breath when I first walked outside.

That is about the same around here in central NC. Thankfully our humidity is under 50% which makes outside bearable. Hottest day I have seen so far was 99 degrees with a Heat Index of about 108:eek: and that was just during the peak of the day. It cooled of to around 89 with a HI of 99 by 5 pm:rolleyes:

I think we got 104 last week, it was 100+ all week. It got up to like 60% humidity some of that time, but usually we're pretty dry out here.

The 90's is considered normal here in the CA Central Vally... It seems like it has been a cooler summer this year with the high probably aroun 110... It is a dry heat though, 17 - 20 percent humidity usually...
Not that bad riding until you stop... Then you melt :-)

It's been pushing into the 90s here, I think. Right now it's like 87. Freaking ridiculous to sleep at night.

This week we have finally had some rain and temps have been in the 90's F. Have had a few weeks of steady 100+ F and biking in that was just nasty. Can't even begin to explain how much h2o I was going through.

I live in Philadelphia. Weather report expects a high of 95 deg. today.
It feels quite warm, as this is about as hot as it has been all summer.
I won't be surprised if our hottest temperatures come some time between August 15 and September 1... although it won't be too much hotter than it is now.
Living in an apartment with no AC, just fans, it feels pretty warm. But it's not a huge deal, really.

Its supposed to be about 95 here as well today. But I take heart in that no matter how hot it is here, its probably hotter where I used to live near Palm Springs.

Global cooling is in full force here, it usually is over 90 from July to September, but yesterday this week was the first warm week. Up until now, great weather.
This summer has been cool. Today is "code orange" again, but this time they advised people to limit their driving. Someday they'll be proactive about limiting driving. I actually like the feel of the heat. Thanks to all the environmental radicals here on living car free, this summer I decided to see how long I can go without turning on the AC. Not yet. Maybe my perception of a cool summer is because I haven't used AC not that it has actually been cool.
It's hit 100 heat index but only 95 or so temp.
yesterday was 89F, 100 heat index. That's humid!

Mid to high 90s here in middle TN, with fairly brutal humidity. Unfortunately, summer's just about to get serious here. :( I need to move.

Man, I will take the 100 plus temps with 16 percent humidity any day to ride in rather then the 90's with high humidity... We had a monsoon come up from Mexico a couple weeks ago and our humidity went up to around 60 percent... We about died.. Felt just miserable.. The hottest part of our summer is also coming up ,,, End of August first part of September so I had better not go to far out on a limb here :-)
Reading this I see that I don't have it bad at all. People in Michigan are always complaining about the climate, but it's really pretty temperate compared to where you all live. It hits 100F about every 10 years, and minus 20F about the same. Summer highs are usually in the low 80s and winter lows are usually in the teens or 20s. Makes for great year-round riding!

I hope so... it was 90something this morning at 10 am when I rode to the Farmers Market. Ugh.

It's been in the high 90s here. Wednesday and Thursday are predicted over 100F.
I'm moving Wednesday. It's only 100 miles away, not enough for a big change in climate. And it's going to be the hottest day of the year. I would love the weather here, if only August and February didn't exist.

Here in Houston I think it has been a pretty mild year overall but 95F and 90+% humidity is pretty standard pretty much get used to it after awhile. Now comming in from outside 95F to inside 70F when drenched with sweat, I don't think I will ever get used to that. I can take the heat, but a complete whimp when it get's below 40F, never seen more than a couple inches of snow.
It'll be 100 actual degree's here in Durham, NC today and tomorrow with ultra high Humidity. About 110 heat index. I've got a hilly Metric this Sat. and hope we get a break!

The Dekalb Farmer's Market? I shop there whenever I make my way to the Brickstore Pub.
We're getting HAMMERED by the heat this week. 98-101 all week. The 10 day forcast doesn't even have us below 93 one single day. We've decided this is our last Georgia summer. We're headed to the PNW as soon as this school year is over for my wife.
Had a couple days in the brutal mid 80s, even contimplated turning on a fan. Right now it's been hovering between 69-75.
Kinda like in the winter too :D
