Just wondering what other type2 riders drink while riding. Also after longer (50+) miles do drink a recovery drink or take electrolyte supplements? I have been using Ultima Replinsher for a couple of years, thinking of trying Hammer-Heed. Thanks

Do a search as this has been discussed before in great detail...
I am type 1 and do use a recovery drink post ride and electrolyte drink & home brew (carb+prot) en route...

On long rides (2 1/2 hrs +) I'll drink an electrolyte beverage such as gotorade or powerade, but I mix it about 1/2 as strong as the directions say. I'll even add a little sea salt to the beverage to make up for the dilution of 1/2 strength. Then I alternate between this beverage and water. This helps to keep my hydration levels up and to keep the electrolyte balance.
Nothing special for recovery except a nice well balanced meal.
