I DID IT!!!!
I experienced some serious time dialation today.
I left my home 36yo....
Went MTB'ing for a couple hours at the local Banner Forest with some buddies. I crashed twice, over some roots and stumps I didn't see. Got the living cr@p beat out of me, with lots of scrapes, bruises, achy joints, etc....
I came home feeling 85yo and beaten/mugged by a street thug. :(
ohhhhhhhhh..... I need a hot bath, a cold beer, and some Tylenol.
Ok, so it's not actual time travel, but the rapid aging process sure makes it feel like it.
LOL - I know that feeling. Funny how you have no recollection of it and your bike is undamaged but it's pretty obvious you got hit by a bus or perhaps by a train.
I'm about your age. Funny how much easier it was to avoid those buses ten years ago, huh? Must be that bio-diesel they run on these days.....
With my knees, its go to bed feeling good, get out of bed {ouch!... snap, crackle, pop** hobble around for 20 minutes before can walk normal.
I quite racing motorcycles because I was tired of being hurt all the time. Even when I didn't crash just the hard landings and bouncing off stuff pulled muscles and joints.

I've got a friend who just turned 29 last month. He is tall, skinny and very quick on the bike. He told me that he had to ride extra hard this spring to get rid of some "back fat" [WTF?], and that he wasn't recovering from rides as fast as he used to. I just laughed and laughed, and told him to suck it up - he was just getting old. He was all, "Seriously? How do you deal with it?" I told him that I drink more wine, buy better bikes and eat plenty of red meat. He'll figure it out...

It's funny. I go from feeling like I'm a kid to 85 all on the same ride. I mean, bombing down hills with on camber turns is just flat out fun. Climbing the hill to get to that point, not so much. :)

Gosh guys, what it gonna be like when you hit my age? :D

I just got up, and came to work.
I actually feel better than last night. My knee isn't sore, and the scrapes are all scabbed up. However, I have discovered a couple new pains that I didn't notice last night. Now, my shoulder hurts, and my hip, but not as bad as before. The Tylenol helped.
And, my back is killing me. I want to cry. No..No... suck up the pain.
must....resist.... sobbing.
THE PAAAAAIIIIIINNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need more Tylenol.

Yep, motorcycle racing is tough on the body. 3 seasons of Enduro and I dislocated both shoulders (one twice), broke 3 ribs, 3 fingers and completely blew out my right knee. My wife's like - "bet you wouldn't do that if you had it to do over again". Are you kidding? Of course I would - I had a blast!

Ha ha ha. I get that when I come home and have scrapes. I came back from a race that I wiped out on and had a nice raspberry on my chin and bruises on the left side of my face. The SO said "I bet you want to stop racing now". I said no way, I got up and finished, that's all that counts.
She just doesn't understand. ;)
Funny, I never broke a bone the whole time I raced motorcycles; then I got on a bike and start racing downhill. One trip over the bars got me a broken collarbone, three cracked ribs and a punctured lung. But I keep convincing my wife that I'm far better off racing bikes because it's "safer." ;)

damn. A punctured lung is up there on the gnarly scale of injuries.

Don't mix Tylenol and beer. Bad for the liver. Just double the beer instead.
