I have been riding seriously for my health for just under a year now. Even though I am still 50 lbs overweight my B.P. is 120/76! Biking works!
Congrats on your success. Biking can be so rewarding in so many ways. Keep up the good work!

Congratulations on taking your health in your own hands! I also had my annual physical recently and my weight was down 5 lbs. from last year (I could still stand to lose 20), my vitals and all my bloodwork was good. My cholesterol is chronically high (genetics), but I'm keeping it around 200 my HDL to LDL ratio is great and my triglycerides are too. Good enough that the doctor is satisfied that diet and excersize are working and will continue to work for me. It helps that my doctor is an avid cyclist himself.
Congratulations. Bicycling along with diet can reduce some abnormalities we suffer as we age. My BP has been below the ideal 120/80, as well as cholesterol and weight is maintained. Well done and keep it up.

Congratulations!
It's good to hear the biking is working for you.
From someone who bikes for exercize and to stay healthy, or at least better than if i did not ride...it is good to hear that it works.

How about 106 over 68 and a pulse rate of 55 and 60. The nurse asked what drugs am I on and I said bike. Yes it does work.

In spite of my biking, my BP is gradualy creeping up (140/79) and I'm on meds to control it. Everything else is OK, however.

Congratulations!
I like George's answer to the question about what drugs he is taking.... "bike".

Good for you. I've dropped 30 lbs since Feb. Blood pressue has never been an issue for me even when I was a practicing smoker. Last time at the doc in March it was 116/65 I've got a creaky and cranky knee but not so bad yet as to need surgery, maybe in the fall but the 30 pound loss really helped to ease the pain. doesn't hurt when I ride even 30 + miles. The ortho doc is going to be surprised to see the next time when she sees how svelt I am :) for the summer I have been shaving my head and with the weight loss several folks have asked me if I was going through chemo therapy. Happily I tell them I'm going through spin cycle

What is this health week? Colonoscopy, stress test now annual physical. I time my annual check around my birthday. Good way for me to remember it. How about eyes? With the diabetes I get an annual check.

Great! It does work. I took a treadmill test last year and after a few minutes the nurse apologized for it taking so long. She said "we're having trouble getting your heart rate up."
Made my day.
So, congrats to you, and us!

I rode for two years and didn't lose any weight. Got toned up, but no weight loss. Then I cut the food intake and kept up the riding. I lost 50 lbs and have kept it off for a year and a half. Take control of your eating. bk
