Whip it, whip it, real hard.
You have to try to like hop into it, kick your frame around, and then jam your foot into the forks. Sorry if that's not such a great explanation, but there's a video on www.bmxonline.com of Eddie Cleveland doing it.
Yea eddie cleveland has alot of style..
On my new Metric I try not to whip it too hard. It spins around too fast and it's hard to catch with my foot. My Hoffman is really heavy and it swings slower which makes it somewhat easier.
And you probably aren't supposed to, but I use my brake when I do a footjam tailwhip. It's safer when you are first learning (and I haven't stopped, haha).
