Cool, I don't remember anyone with a camera.

BTW, looks like the Brooks will live. :)

I've already ordered a rain cover for it.

doglhunt,
That is, indeed, part of Team Bikeforums, I'm scanning a picture right now

Man, getting my picture taken just goes against everything in the Italian part of my mutt heritage!
Actually there were two cameras, one on each side of the street...I was looking at the other guy when they snapped this pic from the other side...sneaky b@stards! ;)

It was great getting some time riding with Mariner Fan, Redneckwes and Halfbent and his son. I also got to meet Momof4greatkids as she and her group passed us at about the 80-85 mile mark - then as we passed her again as they seemed to be helping one of their group with a mechanical at the side of the road. She's as pretty as her bike.

As for the motley little group we started with, you guys should be glad you opted for the metric. After Cheri insisted that we do the full hundred (as it turns out I didn't miss anything by missing watching the Browns get their butts whupped) we all went our separate routes after the lunch stop. The 25ish miles from the lunch stop to the Carey rest stop was great, despite more rain for about the first 10 miles, we literally flew, averaging a good 19-20mph...hammering at 24-25 at a couple of points (A lot of roadies had their souls crushed when the realized they were being droped by a touring bike with rack and fenders!). Cheri was on my wheel for most of it...good thing, because for the final 25 the wind kicked up and it seemed like we were riding into 90% of the way. At a couple of points I pulled out and had Cheri take the lead so I could get a little break...she don't break a lot of wind, but every little bit helps in a head wind. I don't think I managed to get over 18mph for the final 25 miles...doing more like 15 on average - and some of the roadies who's souls I had crushed earlier returned the favor!. So any time we made up over the 3rd quarter was negated by the last. The computer had us at a 16.5mph average as we passed the finish at Findlay High and continued on back to the motel - where a nice warm shower sure felt good!

Thanks to everyone who braved the rain to make the ride...it was a pleasure meeting you and riding with some of you. That's two years in a row that the weather has been yucky...so maybe next year we'll have a beautiful day....so we can complain about the heat and the sun! :D

I've already ordered a rain cover for it.

I took the cover off my Brooks at the 75 mile stop. It was just a teensy bit wet at the rear rivets, but still bone dry underneath. So the moral of the story for all those Brooks users who worry about riding in the rain...the combo of fenders and something to cover the top will give you a satisfactory level of protection for long distances in the rain.

The other good choice I made for the morning ride over the first 32 miles...which was pretty much all rain - sealskinz on my feet, which kept them both dry and warm. I would have been OK in just my sandals, but my feets would have been a little chilled and looked like prunes!

Boy what a day. I spent almost as much time driving as I did riding. Next year I will stay out in findlay somewhere, leaving the house at 3am and driving to Findlay was not fun.

At the start it took just about all I had just to turn the pedals. As the day progress I felt better and better. By the time I got to the school I was thinking I should have done the full century, oh well, next year. Maybe it was the lack of sleep.

Great to have you guys ( and girl) to ride with, and have someone elses ear for Tyler to talk off.
