Best way to navigate threads and posts

I’m trying to find the best way to navigate threads and posts. Unfortunately, I wind up re-reading a lot of posts. Here’s what I know:

1. A new post to an old thread floats it to the top (under the Sticky’s), Likewise, a new thread.
2. I can click on the first post or the last post
3. I can subscribe to a thread (weekly seems to be the shortest time) and get email notification.
4. The “View first unread” icon within a thread takes me to the last post.

What I can’t find is a set-up that allows me to filter or ignore stuff I’ve already seen. Unfortunately, my memory won't expand to what I read yesterday.

I want to read each and every post searching for sage and wise (or wisecrack) advice. If I’m overlooking a simple explanation please PM me and delete this post or at least help me wipe the egg off my face.

What you haven't read should be showing up as bolded and the read threads should be showing as normal, not as bold text.

EDIT: Maybe I've got a computer glitch. Doesn't always work on new posts. Never works when clicking on options for latest post .

It's been mentioned in the Forum Suggestions before. I have a constant problem with it doing that (being bolded when new and unread, and normal when old/read. I have yet to figure out why it does that sometimes, and other times works as it's supposed to.

It doesn't always work quite right for me either, so what can I say? It seems to be an issue with the cookies sometimes loading right, sometimes not.

Blow out your cache file every so often or lower the amount of cache that is stores. That helped me.
