I'm shopping around ebay for any possible deals to replace my old fork. My current fork uses an 8.25" steerer tube length. There are some good deals, but the tube lengths are shorter than mine. Are steerer tubes replaceable or once they are cut to fit a bike you can only use them on another bike with equal or shorter tube length requirements?

If they are replaceable, are there any places to pick some up on the web?

Thanks,
Jerold

What kind of fork are you talking about? Road, MTB? Brand, please.
