My front wheel slows down when i roll it freely, and I put some thick grease in the bearings but that didn't help at all. I put some chain lube in the bearings also, and that seemed to help. Which leads my to my problem, how do you grease a hub? Could this problem be caused by something besides an ungreased hub or the type of grease?

Thanks

grease+ oil = less effective grease.

Take it apart again and clean it out. Grease it well and then adjust the cones correctly so the axle turns freely without play.

could you give some tips on adjusting the cones? I need to grease my hubs too, and I haven't done it before.

Tighten the locknut down on one side and adjust from the other! When it's good it won't be tight or gravelly, but it won't have any play either. If it's a quick release then you'll have to clamp it in the dropouts to ensure the bearing adjustment is OK after it's clamped down.
