I saw the Truvativ Omnium cranks for the first time last night.
Stiff and smooth and a great looking 144 chainring.
How long till we see Hollowtech II and Ultra-Torque in 144, can't be far away now that Truvativ have thrown down the gauntlet.

Doesn't look like we will be getting a 2-piece Shimano track crank any time soon. Japanes keirin rules state that they have to use 3-piece cranks, since Shimano are the only current NJS crank manufacturer they will keep making the 7401 and it doesn't make sense for them to produce two different crank designs :(
Look on the bright side, the Truvativ Omnium cranks look stiff, strong and really well priced, got some on order at the LBS, unfortunately won't be here till september :(

Some good points Dan but I sometimes wonder how much influence the Japanese makers have in determining what NJS is.
