Before moving to Pasadena, I've mapped out a couple of routes I think would be nice, but I'm not sure how bike friendly some of the streets are and what the alternatives are. So if any of you live in Pasadena, feel free to take a look at these and give me the thumbs up or recommend an alternative street.

http://www.routeslip.com/routes/56038 (do I want to be on Foothill that long? How is Sunland?)

http://www.routeslip.com/routes/55366

http://www.routeslip.com/routes/55371 (would this be a good goal for next year?)

I'll add more as I make them, but this should get me started in my first week living in Pasadena.

The first one is a nice ride....Foothill is not too bad...while it has traffic, its fairly wide....But going down Sunland past the 210 is a bit narrow and can get hairy with cars whizzing by...I have done it a few times...great downhill, but narrow...La Tuna is great...good climb....that is a regular for us...

2 is a nice run around the rose bowl...there are other options you can add...such as up Linda Vista to Highland or Berkshire then up Descanso, or up Lida ....some god climbing rides in that area

3 Great goal....I would love to be able to do that someday also...probably need another 15lbs off first!

What a great location. Although you'll see less of the SM's, you know have Wilson and Baldy as your personal training roads.

I do a portion of route 2 every couple weeks and enjoy it. My preference, though, is to continue on Woodbury, cross the 210 on Linda Vista/Highland, and drop down Linda Vista to Lida and then into the bowl.
